Information We Collect
Data You Provide
When you use HitchPlan, you may enter various types of wedding planning information:
- Wedding details (date, venue, partner names)
- Guest information (names, contact details, RSVPs, dietary preferences)
- Vendor information (names, contacts, contracts)
- Budget information (categories, amounts, payments)
- Tasks and timeline items
Data Stored Locally
All your wedding planning data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is:
- Encrypted by iOS/macOS at the device level
- Only accessible by the HitchPlan app
- Never transmitted to our servers
iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account using CloudKit. This means:
- Data syncs across your Apple devices
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
- Only you can access your data through your Apple ID
- We cannot access your iCloud data
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide solely to:
- Display your wedding planning data within the app
- Provide personalized recommendations based on your timeline
- Generate insights and statistics about your planning progress
- Sync data across your devices (if iCloud is enabled)
We Do Not: Sell your data, share it with third parties, use it for advertising, or access your iCloud data.
Third-Party Services
Apple WeatherKit
HitchPlan uses Apple's WeatherKit to provide weather forecasts for your wedding day. This service:
- Receives only the location and date you specify
- Is governed by Apple's privacy policy
- Does not store your personal information
Apple CloudKit
If you enable sync, Apple CloudKit stores your data in your iCloud account. Apple's privacy practices apply to this data storage.
Data Security
We implement multiple layers of security to protect your data:
- Device Encryption: All data is encrypted on your device by iOS/macOS
- Secure Transport: All network communications use TLS encryption
- iCloud Security: Data synced to iCloud is encrypted end-to-end
- No Server Storage: We don't operate servers that store your personal data
Your Rights and Choices
Data Control
You have full control over your data:
- Access: View all your data within the app at any time
- Export: Export guest lists, budgets, and other data
- Delete: Delete individual items or all data from Settings
- Disable Sync: Turn off iCloud sync at any time in Settings
Data Deletion
To completely delete your data:
- Delete the app from your device (removes local data)
- If using iCloud, go to Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → HitchPlan → Delete Data
Children's Privacy
HitchPlan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
